South Cumberland Food Hub: Merry Christmas!
Good Morning from the South Cumberland Food Hub. This will be our last order of the year. We will be re opening next year in August for the fall semester.
Green Door Gourmet has added some sweet carrots this week and purple daikon radishes. Root crops are an excellent source of nutrients and enzymes- we get to eat all of the nutrition that the plant has stored to feed itself. Green Door still has several different kinds of greens available.
I want to thank each and every one of you for your strong support of the South Cumberland Food Hub this year. All of our farmers thank you for opening this opportunity for them to grow their businesses. Thank you for your patience when we are out of something you ordered. Ordering locally has its challenges and we appreciate your willingness to face those challenges. This proves that your convictions about buying local go deeper than convenience and price. We wish every one of you a super Merry Christmas and may the Blessings of God rest upon you, your family and your businesses.
Seeya next year!
Risa

Princeton Farm Fresh: The Market is Open
It is at this time of year that I am most grateful to be a farmer and a part of this growing foods movement in Princeton. When we first moved here in the fall of 2012, I was unable to find local seasonal food. It made the move all that much harder for us. I am very proud and grateful for the farmers that continue to offer seasonal local food throughout the year at our market. We are drawing near to the end of the year and I am in a reflecting kind of mood. Our little market has been open almost a year and a half now and we have sold $15000 (just this year) for our local farmers. Isn’t that an amazing number? This is because of YOU our customers and supporters who come out rain, snow or sunshine to get your local goods. It is because of our farmers and growers who are taking the initiative and looking for ways to grow and meet the needs of this community. We continue to love our new home here in Princeton and all the possibilities it holds for the future of local food!
See you on Friday,
Angela
